Fatal errors when editing defines pages and newsletter manager

I have had this error going on for months now. I posted several months ago about it with no resolve. Now it has come to our attention that when trying to add a newsletter and product update we get the same error.

I have installed the mod that creates an error log and nothing is ever recorded when the error happens.

This is the error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have also checked the server error logs and nothing has been recorded.

I am at a loss as to what could be causing this. My only thought is, could something like fckeditor cause these errors?

Have you checked the server error log? If so, what it is recording?

What information did you hosting company give you in regards to the advice DrByte posted here

regarding modsecurity and the apache error log (not the transfer log)

As an error in admin is very hard to guess at

if you think its FCKeditor, turn it off in admin --> Configuration --> My Store --> html editor
set it to none and then see what happens

I have a pending support ticket again with the information from Dr. Byte am awaiting a response.

There is nothing in the regular server error logs that is generated when the error occurs. I have just installed the tinyMCE editor mod to see if that makes a difference.

If this gets resolved, I will post what the fix was here in case anyone else ever has the same issue.

My host added a whitelist entry for the problem site and so far everything is working as it should.

I had moved the site to another server account after dr. bytes reply so had not tried it with the new host until today.
