Hardly a big time saver as the only things you can get reliably from facebook are the name and email address and maybe city.
I don't use COWOA so I have done my own version of this on a vanilla 151 shop on three pages.
login page
1) If you are not logged into facebook and don't have a corresponding shop account, nothing happens...you need to create a account.
2) If you are logged into facebook and don't have a corresponding shop account, nothing happens...you need to create a account.
3) If you are logged into facebook and do have a corresponding shop account, you get logged into the shop automatically.
create account
1) If you are not logged into facebook and don't have a corresponding shop account, nothing happens.
2) If you are logged into facebook and don't have a corresponding shop account, the account fields are prepopulated and on saving the form your facebook id is saved in a new field in the customers table so the next time you visit you'll be logged in automatically.
3) If you are logged into facebook and do have a corresponding shop account, you get logged into the shop automatically.
logoff
1) There is a fb button to log out of fb too. This is not shown when the user is logged out of facebook.
facebook documention is poor..they seem to rely on stack overflow to provide real answers.
So, I'd be grateful for some feedback on this, if its worth submitting it as a plugin.
It can be seen and tested for a short time at
www dot motorvista dot es /dev/zen151_demo
obviously you'll have to register to test it...once I have finished with this I'll be deleting the data.
