catagory buttons instead of list

I am currently running version1.38 my web site is www.reellayseafishing.com . if you see where it says rods and reels in the button form that is what i want to do instead of the list on the side box. I had some one helping me. He created these buttons and i cant figure out how to modify or add buttons to that location. Thanks for your help

First, you should upgrade to the current v1.3.9h for safety and security if nothing else.

Next, think about the layout implications before proceeding - if you display your 12 top categories like the four buttons you have, they will take up a huge chunk of prime screen real estate on every page.

If you put the button images down the side of the page where the categories box is, they will not interfere with displaying individual page content prominently. You could use Categories Dressing to display the category images in that case.
