two english languages, en for UK and us for USA

i need two languages for one store, both are english
english 1, code en, currency GBP, for united kindom
english 2, code us, currency USD, for united states
and i want the site switch the language by browser

what do i make it done? which files should i modify?

Why do you need 2 languages when they're both the same? You do know...........you CAN enable ANY currency you want to, right?
Admin>Localization>Currencies
So, with the Language of English, you can still accept ANY and multiple currency(ies) you want to.

besides the currency, i also have different information and different product descriptions for uk and usa, perhaps two languages would be better?

Hmm......Okay. Not sure................but seems like a lot of hassle to have 2 English languages. But, if the information is that much different, then it may be worth a try. I've never heard of this being done before, but it may be possible. But, good luck with that. And be SURE to let us know when you get this worked out.


Maybe you might be better to have 2 sites? One with a ".com" and one with a ".co.uk", with each one of them having a very visual link to the other?

Because they're not. Our first step when setting up an online store (or what we call a shop) is to make a whole heap of changes to the terminology familiar to UK visitors. For example "carts" become "baskets" or "trolleys", "shipping" becomes "delivery" or "P&P", "lbs" become "kg" or "g", etc.

No-one seems to have answered yet, so, correct me if I'm wrong but
you will need to duplicate all the english files and directories renaming them to something else ie english_uk. Mirror the file structure of the original fileset.
Then add it into the admin like any other new language.

i think its easy to make another language pack like german pack or other language packs, i can call the new pack "mylanguage", just copy english files and folders (rename english.php to mylanguage.php, rename english folder to mylanguage folder) to admin language folder, to language folder, to templates button folder, i can add a new language from admin. but i'm not sure what else should i modify, such as the files in classe folder? in function folder? or others?

Language packs are self-contained, there's no need to change other files.

i made a new english language pack, now i have the language english and american, i set the option to switch language by browser. now the info in english and american file is

i want en_GB, en_IE, de_DE and all other language browser go to "english store",
en_US, en_CA, en_AU go to "american store",
is it possible?
