    Default On Line Order Fee

Most on-line ticket shops charge a 'Booking Fee'
any one any idea how this could be achieved?

I am looking at Markus Lankeit's 'Priority Handling' module as a possibility - with a few text changes - but aren't sure that will work. Markus's readme mentions a 'low order fee' module - I can't find that module.

It needs to be a configurable percentage added to all orders from a specific Zone. It can't be part of 'Shipping Charges' because products are virtual - free shipping, tickets are retained for collection at the ticket office.

We want to cover the costs of sorting/envelopes for storage/time etc. not to mention the cost of providing an on-line shop (web fees/SSL fees etc).

Zones comes into this so that I can sell tickets to walk ins using the computer in the ticket office and thus not need to charge the handling fee, by having my till operators log in using an account set up in an obscure country zone - we only genereally sell in UK & poss Europe - so I intend using a country zone from the other side of the world for till operators.

Try using attributes.. add one for time zone, another for packaging costs

Sorry Misty - feeling a bit dense today - I dont follow
I dont see how attributes would work.
These are virtual products so shipping doesnt get involved,
also I dont see what you are proposing with Time Zones
I have found a 'surcharge fee by payment method' module that, with a bit of text editing will almost certainly do the trick.

Till operators will ONLY use Cod
All others will ONLY use PayPal to handle either credit cards or payPal account payments. I know PayPal bans surcharging for use of PayPal, but in this case this is not a surcharge on payment method - it applies to all on-line purchase.

You could set a low order fee in the order total setup.

set the minimal fee to a high amount like 1000000000

    See zone Handling option via
    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=69
Use Atttributes, which have no connection to shipping,
to charge for your service fees(postage etc)

Thanks both - I'll look into it.

The Zone Tutorial is a little vague. It has little to say about countries. Is the following a reasonable understanding.
I aren't using ZOnes at the moment - other than undet 'ZOne definitions - Taxes, Payment and SHipping' where I created an EEC Tax Zone and added all the EEC country codes , with the Zone setting as 'All Zones' - which I believe means all the defined Zones within that Country (correct?)

    1. I can Add a country - say 'United Kingdom (Shop)' and give it its own 2/3 char codes - say 'TSR' and 'TS' - I'll need to check they dont exist.
    2. Create a Zone - say 'TSR Shop' give it a code as above and add the country I created above.
    3. Create a Taxes zone - say 'Shop', add the country in 1 and the Zone in 2
    4. When creating a 'till operator' log in use the Country as in 1. Thus the user will get the facilities associated with that zone.
    5. Set the Payment ZOne against the appropriate Payment module so that Cod only applies to the 'Shop' zone/?

    Did I miss anything -

I will be giving it a try - probably 4 April.

    You set up countries
    i.e. GB for Great Britain.
Zones are counties within those countries
i.e West Midlands would be WM
which would go into Country. GB

    Search for zones/attributes in tutorials.

Am assuming by 4th April you mean 4th May

    yes - May - duhh

Sorry Misty I really dont get this
Country can be divivided into Zones - ok
Payment methods can be restricted to Zones - Is that Country Zones or Tax Zones or what?

to avoid confusion (in case my understanding of Zones is lacking)

I need 2 classes of log in
Class 1: Tax Zone is all EEC countries, 20% Tax, payment method 'PayPal' ONLY
Class 2:- Tax Zone is all EEC, Countries, 20% tax, payment method 'CoD' ONLY

All customers must be Class 1
All Shop Staff need to belong to Class 2

I anticipated using a ficticious country as the address for shop staff.

Am I just getting this wrong?

I couldnt get this method to do what I wanted so -

I cloned the Moneyorder module with an 'enable module for specific user id' code patch for till sales.

I used the same code patch for the paypal express module - in the opposite sense so that the till operator only sees the moneyorder payment method and everyone else only sees the paypal payment method

I used low order fee for on-line booking fee as a %.

I added the till operator to a discount group to refund the booking fee when buying in person.

    thanks all for the input
