    Default Integration to other software

I have not selected zencart, yet, but am leaning in that direction. I have a web site that I am redoing and am about to bring it up, that is when I get the store done. This is for an alumni group, and we have some souvenir items, shirts, hats, pins, etc. as well as the ability to pay membership dues, make donations, and to register and pay for upcoming events. Not a whole lot of items, probaly less than 20 total. We are using SMF for the forum, and Coppermine for the photo gallery. The rest of the site was created by myself. I have been able to integrate the login process for the site with the forum and photo album. I would like to have the ablility for our users to make a single login that would also allow them to also enter transactions in our store. The users are not requied to login, there are some pages that are restriced to registered, and or member users. Can the integration with zencart be done with a moderate level of customization that a newbie could handle in a reassonable amount of time.
Second, and maybe this should be first, is zencart going to be overkill for a store with so few items. The store is only a small portion of the site and we are not looking to make a lot of money from it, it is mainly a convenience to our alumni.

Because of security issues this will be a task and unless your php is very good not one to tackle

If you are not planning on requiring a login to see the cart there are a couple of 3rd party modules that may assist you in not requiring a login to purchase

    COWOA is one

If you're willing to change forum software, Zencart can share logins with phpBB. I haven't used Coppermine, and I'm not sure why I'd want to have to log into a photo gallery.

Personally, I don't consider Zencart to be overkill even if you only offer one item. It has so many features that may be useful down the road (gift certificates, reviews, newsletter, etc.), and disk space is cheap. You may find you'll do more business than you anticipate.
