Free shipping if order is more than $50

I am charging $6 flat rate for all orders and give free shipping for orders $50 and over.

I've activated module->shipping->Free shipping

and

Order Total->Shipping -> free shipping $50

But when I check out with an order $50 or greater, I still get $6 flat rate added to the invoice.

I've look through the forum but can't figure it out. I've followed the sample in the tutorial but didn't work. What am I doing wrong?

The shipping module FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper is not related to the Order Total module Shipping ot_shipping free shipping ...

Go to Modules ... Order Total ... Shipping ot_shipping ...

1 make sure it is enabled:
Allow Free Shipping true

2 set the amount to 50.00 for:
Free Shipping For Orders Over

3 select if this is for :
National
International
Both

Now when Orders are $50.00 or more then Free Shipping will be the only shipping available and all other shipping methods will disappear ...

I forgot to turn Free Shipping on. And it's working now, yippeeeee.

Well, I got close....

I set the parameters I want in the Shipping Module and the Order Total. Placing several fictitious orders, all is working well except for one thing:

I set "Yes, Always Free Shipping" in the product entry for music CDs - hard product, not downloads. Now it appears that, as a customer, I get a choice of free shipping or I can choose the proper rate for non-CD products as I checkout!

Obviously, I have something set incorrectly - I need for the CDs to not have any shipping charge involved, even if they're ordered with other items (I've included postage in the price of the CD). So, if a customer orders 3 CDs totalling about $48.00, and a sale item for $22.00, they need to be charged the basic $10.50 flat rate - not be given the option of getting charged no shipping at all.

What do I need to change to accomplish this - free shipping just on certain products?

As usual, thanks for any assistance provided - I'm actually starting to get the hang of it!

Always Free Shipping means the Product is Free Shipping for *everyone* and uses the FREE SHIPPING freeshipper shipping module ...

If you are using the standard shipping modules that come with Zen Cart, all are setup to not run when the shopping cart only holds Products marked as Always Free Shipping or when 0 weight is set on the Product and 0 weight is setup to mean Free Shipping in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

If you have Add On shipping modules, these may or may not be setup for the Always Free Shipping ...

I haven't done any add-ons - just what's already there. I have "freeshipper" and "zones" enabled.

Oh, using ZC 1.3.9h and bluestrip_reloaded.

Tried turning off "freeshipper", but then I can't get mark the CDs as free shipping - shows "Not shipping to your region" at checkout for those products.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

What are your settings for the Zone Rate zones shipping module?

If you have any Product marked as Always Free Shipping, you need to have installed the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module ... otherwise there will not be an available shipping method when only Products that are marked Always Free Shipping are in the shopping cart ...

The Zones only work with Countries so not with the US but not Alaska and Hawaii ... so to do *all* of the US you would use US ...

On the setting of 00 for all Countries not otherwise defined, that has to be the *last* on defined ...

What would work better for you is the Add On for the Zone Table shipping where you can build specific Zones ...

Do a search in the Free Software Add Ons for:
zone table

and you should find it ...
