Media mail surcharge

Our store sends book mostly by media mail. For tracking I add delivery confirmation. Is it possible to add a surcharge only for media mail equal to the charge of delivery confirmation i.e 85 cents now. Thanks in advance for giving me any clue.

You could customize the usps.php shipping module to add $0.85 when the method is MEDIA with:

          $cost = preg_replace('/[^0-9.]/', '',  $cost);
          if ($type == 'MEDIA') {
            $cost = $cost + 0.85;
          }
