    Default AuctionBlox integration

    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone was using AuctionBlox with their Zen Cart store or had any recommendations for other similar software. The only thing that I've found that looks similar is available at http://www.holbi.co.uk/

I'm in the middle of an email conversation with them at the moment but they have no way of showing me a working demo and are asking for £895 + VAT which I don't mind paying assuming it actually works.

If you are using AuctionBlox, could you tell me how it handles Zen Cart stock attributes as a huge number of our Zen Cart and eBay products have different size / colour attributes.

    Thanks

I just tried them out last month and was not impressed. Many features they say it does, doesn't work.

From what I could tell, it was a newer version from before, so if anyone has an older version that works, keep it.

    There is no documentation.

When an item is sold it's supposed to send a winning email to the buyer so they can purchase through your checkout. It doesn't save your e-mail address and it has options to create email templates that are to be sent but it doesn't save them either so no emails to buyers.

The site is confusing and in beta.

You list in Zencart and supposed do everything else at their website.

Existing ebay and zencart store owners will have to match items so once an item is sold at ebay it removes it from your site and creates the order. I have over 1000 items at ebay and by months end, only about 700 items were matched between the two and I couldn't get the other items to show up to match. If the customer pays right away it will be set as paid in zencart too. I think it is a batch thing, if they pay later, your order is never updated to paid, you have to do it manually in zencart or it stays at "processing".

You can add tracking info, when it was shipped and how in auctionblox, but it does nothing, it doesn't change the status of the order at auctionblox or on your website, you have to change that status manually too in zencart.

Once you create an item in zencart, you go to auctionblox and use a template that looks alot like turbo lister for example. They use what they call macros, example- [title] goes where the title goes and it then takes the title from your zencart item and fills it in, it does it for price, description and image. If you list a lot of items with different catagories and shipping prices you have to create a template for each catagory and shipping combination you will need. If you only have a couple different it's not bad to list, you won't need many templates. This part you have to wait for actionblox to update with your new items you created in zencart, I found it took an hour or so, sometimes longer, but once it is listed at auctionblox, you find your item, choose the template you want and it lists it right away. It has macros for catagories and shipping available, I created the macro titles in my DB in zencart and added the info to my new listings but it didn't use them when listing using a macro filled template, so that didn't work either. I don't use attributes, so I have no idea how that works with auctionblox.

I had placed about 6 different support tickets when they asked for my phone number and I did talk to them, seemed like real nice people to me. I talked to them about 2 weeks in about my problems I was having, and he said it was something they could fix, but by 4 weeks in at the end of the month nothing was fixed and when I told them I deleted their files from my server and to not renew me for another month I did get a response to the tickets saying he was about to fix them.

I would use it again if they get the site out of beta and get all the features working and some documentation, or they go back to using an older version of their software that I assume works, because I could find nothing bad written up about other experiences in the past. But right now, $59 a month plus a percentage of sales was not worth it to me to just have an order created at zencart. My sales at my store didn't remove them from ebay either, but I didn't even bother with a ticket for that, I have more sales at ebay and that was where I was focused.

Yeah, it sucks! Don't use it. Ruined over 2,000 of my eBay listings. Horrible customer service. A one man show that sucks.
