Need Help Customizing the Value Displayed as the Default Quantity

I sell fabric in partial quantities. My minimum quantity is .5 yards. I would like for the quantity box next to the add to cart button to display 1 as the default value instead of the underlying .5 minimum value which is defined in the product definition.

Is there a single place where I can modify the routine which sets this value?

Why I'd like to do this: the price displayed is for 1 yard of fabric. Even though I've customized the product info panel to state price is per yard I continue to have customers call and e-mail asking if the price is for 1/2 yard. They see the .5 and the price on the product listing page and assume the price relates to the quantity shown in the box.

Hoping this change might ever so slightly up my conversions!

I am fairly new to Zen Cart, but I do maintain our shopping cart here at work.

We sell most of our products in increments, so we use attributes when setting up items.

Have you looked at setting up attributes?
Catalog/Categories/creating your item, there is a question that asks "product priced by attributes" if you select yes, then you get another screen that lets you set up the attributes.

My question relates to modifying the default quantity value displayed next to the add to cart button. I'm fairly certain there's no Zen Cart feature to override this. I'm guessing I have a relatively unique case on why I want the 'default' to be different than the minimum quantity.

I'm just trying to figure out where in the code I can intercept the logic that's picking up the minimum quantity and setting it as the default quantity.
