I want to remove/disable Add to Cart button

I am setting up a brand new site. All I want to use Zen cart for is to display all my products in a catalog format.

In the product description I will have a link to my own shopping cart at AlertPay which is linked to a product download program.

Under Configuration>Product listing there is an option that says

"Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product)".

So it seems to be that it is saying if I choose "0" then the Add to Cart Button will not display. Well, I am choosing "0" and the add to cart button is still there. Will not go away. Yes, I have refreshed 1000 times.

Any suggestions?

Go to the Configuration ... My Store ... and set the Store Status to Showcase ...

Well, the showcase feature is what I want because it only exhibits the products, however it does this for everyone. I want it to only show products to customers

Look at the Customer Details and setting up your site for Authorized Customers only ...
