Default Improved image management in product edit/add area

    Zen Cart v1.3.9h

    http://www.sorcewebdesign.co.uk/opus/

Is there a way of improving the image upload area on product add/edit pages so website admin can upload multiple images (without having to navigate elsewhere in admin)? it would also be good if images can be optimised on upload, e.g. create a small and large version of original.

I have tested a few image solutions but they have all either been too complicated, and/or you have to navigate away from product add/edit page to manage - most clients are NOT computer savvy and do not have the time.

A recent client has added photos up to 4000px wide, when you go to click for enlargement it takes ages to load and fills the whole screen, can't see all image as is still 4000px wide! Also, all images have been resized poorly by system and thumbnails are super poor quality.

it would be great if someone acould advise of a suitbale add on, or solution, free, or paid

    Thanks

    Matt

Don't know what you have looked at as you did not specify
There are several 3rd party modules to effect what you describe but maybe not in the precise way you desire

Clients must at some point be tutored as to what is acceptable and what is not

I have tried this http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1441 - found it very complicated myself and work with websites and IT every day.

Most improtant thing is image resize. if someone adds a photo that is 4000 wide, can the system resize on upload so size is decreased, so, when click for larger image it is not still 4000px wide? Or, does the image have to be resized before upload?

There are other 3rd party modules you should evaluate

This is where your clients need tutoring
I know of no module that can handle an image that is this inappropriate for the web

No, the image needs to be sized for the web prior to uploading

The code base displays the "larger" image at what ever it is natively

If the people are taking their own pics, tutor them to set their cameras to produce images say at 640x480
