    Default Changing Domain / Subfolder

    Hello everybody
I'm totally new to Zen Cart and I have a question that maybe be old, but I've been searching for an answer but I'm still very confused.
I have a site that is being hosted by iWeb.
In this place a have my main domain name "domain01.com"
Then, the person that created this website for me bought another domain name "domain02.com" to place the store.
Now the problem I have is that when people visit my store, they only see "domain02.com/store" and I don't want this.
    I created a subdmain under domain01.com, let's say "www.domain01.com/new_domain".
I want to move my whole Zen Cart store from domain02 to the new subdomain under domain01 and then eliminate the old store and discard domain02.
    What exactly should I do?
    Thank you in advance

Why are you and your developer making life so difficult for yourselves? Why install in a folder on one domain and then want to transfer it to another folder on another domain?

If this is a new site then which domain you use may not matter at all - though having a domain name relevant to what you sell is an advantage. For example, if you sell large shoes then having a domain called 'large-shoes.com' would be advantageous.

    Otherwise just do the following:

    1. Pick one domain to use.
    2. Put the site "Down For Maintenance" while you move it.
    3. Move the Zen Cart folders and files to the root of one of the two domains.
    4. Edit the two configure.php files with the new information.
    5. If the chosen domain is on the same server as the domain you moved from, or if you just moved it from a folder to the root of the same domain, then the database info may not need changing in the configure.php files.
    6. Then, remove the "Down For Maintenance".

    Vger

p.s. If you do move to a different domain and then delete the other domain then you may end up deleting all databases associated with that domain - so be careful!

    designbc,

You probably don't want to put zencart into a sub domain unless you have a specific reason to do so.

Sub domains look like: www.subdomain.domain01.com not like www.domain01.com/subdomain. The second one is what you get if you just create a folder in your domain01.com web space, which is how a lot of people run zencart, but not all.

If both domain01.com and domain02.com are both hosted with iWeb then at least most of the settings will be correct. There's lots of posts and guides on here about moving zencart to a new domain so you should be able to find what you need. Nearly all of the changes you will make will be in the /includes/configure.php and the /admin/includes/configure.php files.

Just make sure you have a copy of everything before you make any changes.
