express check out loopng

I am using express check out on several sites, it seems very buggy. A lot of sites continually keep looping never actually getting to PayPal.

It will say step 2 please confirm, then go to step 3 then back to 2 again.

Customers have been reporting same issue on 1.39h with express checkout.

I don't know if Dr Byte remembers but I had issues with IPN few weeks ago so I enabled the Express checkout on one site now, I have customers reporting this issue, not all the time but I have heard it from 4 people this week. I do get orders through PayPal but PayPal traffic dropped 75% since I enabled the PayPal Express.

I do have other stores on the same dedicated server that still process PayPal with no issues (different versions on Zen Cart thought).

Well, since I can't seem to find a way to recreate the described symptoms on a fresh clean install of v1.3.9h without addons and with taxes configured for an average USA store and shipping set up with Flat Rate, what exactly can you explain as the cause of the looping?

are you asking me why it is looping and not checking out on 10 out of twenty stores?

Why cant you create the symptom when I gave you the url?

It does me no good to trigger the problem on *your* site.

I need to recreate it on *my* site in order to figure out what's causing it.

So ... if you'd like my help, give me a step by step list of things to do to make my site manifest the same problem you're reporting.

It kinda hard to give you a list of modules and modifications since the site is modified. The question remains, why all of the sudden when nothing have changed as far as the site goes. The IPN start acting up, then the Express Checkout which is suppose to function similar to Authorize.net is acting up too.

Couldn't be something that PayPal has changed that maybe Zen Cart didn't catch up to.

The looping isn't all the time so testing it on a test website doesn't give accurate results. I try to test it myself and was able to checkout but that doesn't mean the few customers that called are making it up either. I didn't give it much attention the first time a customer complained but when I had 2 people call back to back with the same claim, I took a look at it but no issues for me.

The only change I did was enabling the Free Shipper module, but the issue appears on products that the Free Shipper rule doesn't even apply to.

Steps are
install ZC
turn on paypal ECO
turn all other pay modules off
try to buy something

I tried to checkout a couple of days ago and got the following message:

We are sorry for the inconvenience. The PayPal account authentication settings are not yet set up, or the API security information is incorrect. We are unable to complete your transaction. Please notify the store owner so they can correct this problem. (10002)


Today, it seems to be working fine. I had the same looping issue when I used the host shared SSL. Purchasing a dedicated ssl fixed the issue.
