    Default templates for real newbie

OK. I am reallly reallly new at all web-site/zencart related things. I finally got everything running, all my products and everthing set up, paypal and all.
    this is my webiste: beautystorecosmetics.co.il
Then I decided I wanted to chenge how it looks (really didnt like the classic zen cart) so I used this template:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1793

I didnt really know what I was doing as you can tell, so really only the colors where changed, is there anywhere I can find VERY simple Very clear for real beginners on how to do the rest?

if not everything, then I would at least like to know how to get rid of the zencart symbol. I have read some of the tutorials on this but I am so new that I couldn't figure them out either

    Thanks!

What you're seeing there is the template_default template. You source shows that you have enabled the earthy_boutique template, so I would guess you didn't upload all the earthy_boutique template files, especially the files in the css folder.

I just double checked and they are all there. It actually only has 3 files in that folder, is that how many it should have?

Maybe I'm not uploading it to the right place? this is where I put them:
    /public_html/zencart/includes/templates/Earthy Boutique/css

Looking at the template files, there should be two stylesheets in that folder - stylesheet.css and style_imagehover.css. Try uploading those two files from the template package to the css folder, overwriting what's there if necessary.

When you unzip that template's zip file to your local computer, if you look at includes/templates/earthy boutique/css, there should be two stylesheet files in there - the two I mentioned before. If not, you need to download the zip file again.

The stylesheet files you have now are in the right folder, but they're the template_default files.

The important thing to know, when installing modules and templates, is the need to maintain the DIRECTORY PATH INTEGRITY - so that the folders/files of the add-on, are consistent with the folders/files of your zencart installation.

In MOST cases, the author of an add-on / template, will have placed all the relevant files of his/her add-on, into the appropriate directory structure.

When this is the case, all you need do (via FTP), is MAINTAIN the structure.

What is often confusing for novices, is the appearance of several files that have the SAME NAME, but which reside in different FOLDERS.

For example, there are shipping add-ons that will have the following:

    includes\modules\shipping\zonetables.php
    includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\zonetables.php

... now while the files have the SAME NAME... they are very, very different, and cannot be "inter-changed".

You have to be careful to maintain the integrity of the directory and file structure... it is also very useful to learn precisely how the zencart OVER-RIDES system works, because if you do gain a better understanding of this system, the location of directories (folders) and their files will become so much more logical.

Thanks so much! I'm begining to see what you mean about the folders. I originally had just uplaoded everything into the templates folder :) oops

The thing I still cant figure out, is that this template has an image slider feature. I got all my images to work, but as you can see on my website its not working as a slider, the pictures are just displayed.
    Any ideas?

That is another issue. You really should contact the template designer or post in the support thread for your template.
