Newbie Please help sort by window and tell a friend not working

Hi all

My "Tell a friend window" is not showing on my website...
Its turned on in admin......
This is what it shows

sideboxes/tell_a_friend.php ON LEFT 65 0 ON ......

What do i need to change to get this working??

Also my sort by window is not working properly

All Products
Sort byrice low to hign

And it's showing the highest priced item $2.99
But i have a item for 0.01 and it's not showing it

Sort by: price high to low
And it's showing a item for $0.99

Looks like you have hacked a core file which is hard to detect if you have not followed the following below when you first set up zen cart..

Because then we can switch the template back to the classic contemporary green to see if site is working correctly..

I would take time and create a test site and start over to sort things out... If you do have to hack a core file write notes down..
