Managing Images With Similar Names

Any way to overcome the image issue of similar named images showing up in a listing, other than renaming images or turning off showing additional images per this thread, http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43946?

There are a couple of products I am adding additional images via the HTMLarea editor, and in the cases where they are added on purpose, I'd like them to show and turning off the images removes these.

Renaming makes it more difficult to manage the images for each category, they are numbered per each category, and it works out very nicely for finding, managing, editing html pages, easypopulate, etc., and renaming is a very last resort. Hoping someone may have found a workaround.

One can rename them to use the builtin method for diaplay
OR one can dis able the additional images

Code can not make decisions on it's own and one can not have their cake and eat it in this instance

If adding them via the editor they will show as this is not under the control of the builtin code

Thank you, then I must have something set up wrong, because when I tested adding 2 through the editor to a particular product, and then disabled showing additional images, they disappeared. Disabling additional images and adding on a case by case basis for products would be fantastic, but no luck getting it to work yet. For the HTMLarea editor to see my images, I had to load it to store/editors/htmlarea/popups. Yet disabling addition images did cause them to disappear from the listing, and would like to correct this if possible, thank you.

First place one image in your /images folder and I assume that your ZenCart is at "/"
Then use the plain text editor mode to enter the html

Thank you, that worked like a charm, and loading them with Easy Populate worked nicely too, it updated 100 images for me fine once I moved the pics to the store/images folder and switched to plain text editor. I will try different dimensions & layouts to find the right size/layout, thank you so much for the help, this really opens up more flexibility.

Very close to wrapping this up, but bumped into a question - with this revision, I lose the popup capability on the additional images. How can I create this for the add-on images?
