Hi,

I'm going to use zen cart to sell tickets to a kid's puppet show where a maximum of 80 people can be allowed entrance. Problem is there
will be three different types of tickets each with own price.
I can't put up 80 tickets for sale of each or I might end up over booking the show. So I'm trying to work out a way to go about this.

I need a kind of drop down menu so main product has amount of 80 available only regardless of which variable of ticket is chosen, if you
see what I mean?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using version 1.3.9 just newly installed with no updates. I think I tried to add on attribute addon but failed. Other than that just needing to above all sort out ticket sales so not over booked.

I'm battling with it now but super complicated plus I see it has that warning about backing up files globally which I've been doing pretty religiously until I go into admin and my mind turns to jelly trying to work out which part is connected to which php file I'm changing!

Ok, look like you are getting the hang of it...

But you will have to keep track of 80 tickets with the attributes you created and when the $15, 25 and 30 dollar tickets are sold out you want the attribute to show sold out:

Ok thanks, back to it again today and no I don't think I'm getting the hang of it haha

The option names page and the option values page are immensely confusing once you see all the update windows below. Anyway at the moment I'm stuck not being able to find my option names to give them value. They exist in the options names page but not in the list for option values. I read somewhere else on here it has to do with selecting TEXT but I changed all that to dropdown. However when I go to MYSQL database and look at products options value table it says 01TEXT1 and don't know how to edit it :/

The other thing is once I eventually get this right where are the php files associated with my changes to be found to back up?

haredo, I started again from scratch with step by step tut and sorted that problem. However, the price by attributes made it so it was adding all the amounts together as starting price instead of the base price attribute. I lost the page where you could select base price to go along with price attribute so ended up just deleting starting at 0.00 text which it ended up being and still is in the linked social ecart in facebook which is a problem. Interesting because when I was using trial and error with the attributes, at one stage the attributes were stuck together and impossible to select individually.
So going to cart you have all three as one price which seemed to coincide with product adding them as base price. I can't remember what I did to stop that but they are no longer stuck in zen cart but still stuck in the social ecart on facebook :/ major problem!
