Hit Counter for Items

How do I add a hit counter for each item? I would like to know how many people are viewing an item, and have the counter increase each time. I can add some PHP to do this, but I would rather have the admin panel do this for me. Is there a way?

There is a report for it as well in your Admin ...

Now... is there a way to export this to Excel or some other format?

You could edit the file to get the SELECT statement and build your own export ...
