resent password not accepted

Hello,
I am lost - I had a problem with the password to my admin area, therefore I asked for a new temporary password.
However this password is not accepted - I still get the message that my user name or password is wrong. So now I am excluded from my shop and need some advice how I can regain access to my admin area.
Can I edit the php files from my host's cpanel? How? Any help is highly appreciated.
