Im getting quite a few members that are making spelling mistakes (and entering bogus email addresses in a few cases) and need them to activate their accounts before they can order, i cant see any mods for this, has anyone mananges to implement this on their store?

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but this, maybe:

yes that would help one part of the problem

People are putting their email addresses in, but not valid ones ie [email protected] or someone@google and even a [email protected]

The problem i am now experiencing, is the amount of bounced emails due to invalid or bosus email address

What i was looking for was, some sort of mod that will only create the account once the user has click on a link in an email during registrations ensuring they have a correct and valid email address

OK - that's been asked many times, but nobody has stepped up to write a mod yet, that I know of.

    Rob -

Having to confirm before being able to make a purchase is a conversion killer. Are the problems you are experiencing real purchasers that can't type or just annoying bogus accounts?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Hi Kim, yes they are real orders, they supply credit card information and the orders are going out to these people.

Most of the incorrect email addresses they supply can be corrected, ie noticable mistakes in the spelling of their mail supplier, a few (genuine orders) have email addresses that are undeliverable (i get their welcome and order confirmation bounce to me).

A few of these errors are down to lack of knowledge on the structure of email addresses with some people adding www. before their email address

I was just after a way like what you have when you sign up for a forum to check that the email by sending a comfirmation to it

The reason for all this, is, all the people wishing to receive a newsletter we are sending through some mailing software and the amount of invalid email addresses are creating temporary bans with service providers
