Default Re: installed template not showing in dropdown list

Yes it is there, always was, I did not accidentally remove it or anything else. The last time it was in my admin list was when I saw the "Choice" of cherry or green classic. When I picked cherry and only looked around for about 5 min. and went back to admin, my Custom_template choice was gone in admin, but none of my files on the server.
I did back up first, I am about to try that for just the catalog files and not the DB hoping the DB did not get changed. (I did not use the SQL option for cherry, just the install files)

    Thank you for your response.

Well, I reinstalled my backup of catalog/.... and still no my_custom_template as choice in admin, just the classic green.
I did not think this type of template install would change the DB, but is that possible?

Technically, if the template_info.php file is in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE folder, and its content is correct ($template_name = 'YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME';) the option has to be there in admin. I'd check that file.

This has nothing to do with the database.

I had just tried reinstalling my DB from the Full Cpanel Backup, just done before I installed Cherry. I forgot to do a DB backup from my instruction sheet that I normally do as well (found in the FAQs DB Backups). That is the one that describes what to check off. I hope that "Full Cpanel Backup DB" is okay to use as is(?) I also followed the DB restore from the above FAQ DB.

Anyway that DB restore fixed it, that is my template now is back. But it is not in the admin choices, only Classic green ( I won't be trying a change until I find out what happened).

Forgot to add, did this DB restore before your reply.

    I have installed from new 1.39h build;

    CSS Flyout Menu
    Image Handler_v2 rev 8c
    Simple Google Anaytics
    super tracker
    sitemapxml
all done last year from a rebuild of older version and existing DB

    Thank you,

Da, my bad, I had to re re re read your post and prior posts to get it.
template_info.php "was not" in MY_template folder. Never was for years. I never knew I needed to add it but then I never tried to change it.

Now I am not sure about that DB restore I did that made me think I fixed it.

Partly my mistake, too. When you do select a custom template in admin, it writes the name of the custom folders to the template_select table in the database.

When you restored the database, the name of your custom template was still there, and as long as you have the custom template folders in place, Zencart will use that template. You'll still need to have the template_info.php file in place for it to show up in the admin dropdown.

I had put template_info.php copy from the template_default in my_template folder and sure enough there it is in the admin list. I would have never thought of that without your help! All is back to what it was before I got in a creative mood. I need to work on more sales anyway.
    Thanks again
