Default Customers Cannot Login/Cart Not Updating

I have been looking at a lot of the other posts and I still cannot get my new template to allow a customer to login or to update the shopping cart. I have no errors in the cache and if I change between templates it carries all the info over into the new template and allows the customer to log out but not back in. It also carries over all the shopping cart info but you cannot continue the checkout unless you go back to the old template

I am running 1.39. I am leaving the new template online for now to see if someone can help with the issue.

    The site is here:

    www.directpleasuretoyou.com/dptyshop

Any help would be great. Everything else on the site is working fine...

    Thanks in advance!

The key is to look at the template you are using and see if it is compatible with the version of zen cart you have loaded...
You need to use WinMerge to compare the file stucture of your template compare to your version of zen to see if the .php coding has changed and if so, You have to fix it..

I would contact the Template designer you paid good money for this sleek looking site to run flawless with Zen cart...

    Haredo,

I was told the Template was compatible with the version I am using...
I will take a look with WinMerge. I REALLY THANK YOU for mentioning that, as I did not even think about it. It has been driving me crazy!

I got the template from a guy who did 3 really great designs (FREE) and I was able to tweak it to the final layout. I think it cam out decent. Thank you for the compliment!

    Have a great day!

I think (at least I hope) that Haredo was being sarcastic.

    1. Selling S-e-x Toys is a highly competitive area and to make any money the site has to look "special". This template looks very mediocre, and I'm not surprised it isn't working.

    2. It is normal when posting a link to an Adult site to give a warning to people in your post.

You are right. I am truly sorry that I forgot to mention that

Why are you surprised it is not working? Can you shed any light on this?

As far as the template goes... This is the shopping portion of the site. I left it open so that I could possibly get some help here. It is a members only site and the shop does not have to be all that "special" and will be closed to the public once again.

If I offended you in any way or have pissed you off... Then I apologize... I am just not sure why the anger towards this question was necessary

There wasn't any anger in my remarks at all. I just pointed out that the template the site uses is very mediocre (doesn't look good at all). Usually when a template looks like that it's because the person who put it together doesn't know what they are doing - and in that case they are likely to have made changes to the coding which prevents Zen Cart from working as it should.

My advice is to ditch that template and restore the Classic template and Default templates to how they should be (I suspect they have been altered too), and then see if your site works. If it does then you have a starting point from which a new template can be added which will make the site look better.
