It's not stored in any PHP file. It's stored in the database. You can edit the product description by using your Admin controls: Admin->Catalog->Categories/Products->Edit

Thank you both, I lost it and wanted to retrieve the description I'd written. Before I lost it I did export the database and it saved it as
mydb.sql but now I don't know how to get into it to find the text. Do I just upload it so it overwrites existing db or what please?
Nevermind, I did it :) that was easy and now my description is back.
Always be saving my database! So wouldn't attributes all be saved in database as well?
