cannot get rid of display price

I disabled it within admin and now I changed the php file in includes/modules/product_listing.php but NOTHING works so even
though the product price is not displayed on the page it still is being displayed in the browser URL. How on earth can I get rid of it?


The prices are displayed within options, the product is just the heading title - needs no price. I think someone suggested I make it a document product but then I'd have to start from scratch with attributes and I don't even think that's possible.

Look here:

admin panel/ catalog/ category-products

Work yourself to the product.. Tickets
notice on the right hand side the hazard icon (black)
you first have to add meta tags and descriptions. Then control what you like in the radio button in the header...

Thanks haredo, hadn't looking into that hazard icon- ok went ahead and did meta tags but it hasn't made any difference...what do you mean by "Then control what you like in the radio button in the header..." ? I have no radio button on the product at core.

When you do keywords and descriptions you will see a header above that give you what you want to display:

Mark What the Product's Meta Tag Title Should Include:
Product Name:
Yes No Title:
Yes No Model:
Yes No Price:
Yes No Title/Tagline:
Yes No

Sorry to be a bit facetious, but to answer the question asked, of course it's possible.

It may require some custom coding. Btw, I would suggest that if there is no default switch to activate the option that one be included so that the default functionality can be maintained and new capability added on.

I cannot reproduce this problem ...

If you look at a Product that has the wrong price in the meta tag ... then look at the table:
products

in phpMyAdmin ...

What do you see for:
products_price
master_categories_id
products_price_sorter

What is the URL to this Product?

Does this work if you change to the Classic Template?

Do you use Linked Products?

Thanks for the reply.

This is happening on every product. If you "view source" on any product page, you will see that the <title> tag includes a brief description and the products MSRP price. I want this to be the SALES price instead. the sales price is determined in the "sale maker" area of the admin panel.

I have the MSRP and the sales price listed on all product pages so customers can see their savings.

The products SQL file contains:
products_price = my MSRP
master_categories_id = The correct ID
products_price_sorter - my MSRP

What is the URL to this Product? All products are effected at http://www.oskopoolnspa.com

Does this work if you change to the Classic Template? This is a modified classic template.

Do you use Linked Products? No

I do not use this add on, so I am not sure if it has any changes concerning how meta tags work, but as a test, go to your Zen Cart Admin to the Tools ... Store Manager ...

Since you do not use Linked Product, run the:

Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID
to be used for Linked Products and Pricing:

Then run the:

Update ALL Products Price Sorter
to be able to sort by displayed prices:

Does this fix the display price?

If not, do you have any changes/customizations to the file:
/includes/modules/meta_tags.php

also check if you have a templates and overrides file for that:
/includes/modules/your_template_dir/meta_tags.php

NOTE: it is always a good idea to make backups of your database before running these commands ...
