Newbie - Remove categories from main page

I am new to Zen Cart hence apologies if I am asking a silly question.

I want to remove the categories and sub categories being listed on each main page. I have the categories listed in the header on the homepage and in the left side box in each sub page - they also display within the main area of each sub page which is bothering me - I don't need that many listings.

Do I have to edit the template page? As an example this is a link to a page http://www.cebraonline.co.uk/index.p...=index&cPath=1

p.s. I have tried to install various drop down menu add-ons but none of them seem to work with my templae which is a shame.

I have actually set the Categories - Always Show on Main Page to zero.... and I have the latest Zencart version installed

admin -> configuration -> index listing

Turn off those you don't want to display.

I have followed your advice and literally set everything to zero but it still shows....I am beginning to think it is a template issue.

I found the answer:

Admin -> Configuration -> Product Listing -> Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating - turn that one off (to 0)
