Is there any way to get center categories box to lay out like in columns like this?

I need to divide up my subcategories alphabetically to make them easier to look at.

I was thinking of adding some empty categories in between subcategories beginning with A and B and C etc. Then maybe add a category graphic of a big letter.

Is there any setting or mod that can add spacers to divide up categories?

I helped someone a couple of years ago with organizing subcategories (I think) by subject... the same process could work for alphabetical groups. I don't have time now to look up the thread, but you might try searching. It was for printer ink cartridges. I'll check in again when I have time.
