FedEx Ship Manager API Terminating? Addon module suddenly stopped working

I have used the fedex shipping module for years and I had dropped it about two months ago while using Ceon's Advanced Shipper module. I have decided to return to fedex but for some reason my fedex module is not working.

I have a good account as I have never stopped using it. I have verified all the info on the Module setup but it is not retrieving a meter number... I do have the meter set to NONE

any ideas...i need my fedex....

Received a letter from FedEx a couple of days ago that states :

"This is an urgent message about your account ending in ****. According to our records, you're using FedEx services through FedEx Ship Manager API and FedEx Ship Manager Direct electronic shipping solutions.

All FedEx Ship Manager API and FedEx Ship Manager Direct functionality will be terminated by May 2012. To continue submitting FedEx transactions through your website, intranet or software, you'll need to integrate FedEx Web Services with your solutions. Failure to take action will result in your integrated systems losing a connection to FedEx.

By swithching to an updated solution, you'll have access to FedEx services that can better meet your business needs.

If you have any questions, go to fedex.com/developer or email our support desk at [email protected]."

Are we going to have such an upgrade? I'm sure that I am not the only one who has received this letter.

got the same letter... i was able to get my meter rolled back for now but this is a temp fix.... New add on needed...

Numinix has the FedEx Web Services Shipping addon. Check here. Make sure that you have your Meter ID from FedEx.

For the new module, you will need to go to fedex DRC at fedex.com/us/developer and obtain a meter for web services module (nine digit meter), it is not the same as your old api meter (seven digit meter) The old api meter will not work since web services also requires the use of two additional credentials, a key and a password. You will need to accept new terms and conditions then obtain credentials from the move to production section of the site.

Note: you can no longer obtain meters for the older api as of June1, 2011. So if you install a shipmanager api or ship manager direct module, dont expect it to work.

Having the same problem, but mine was working and then just a week ago has stopped working.
Trying to figure out what updates that were made that may have caused this, but I don't see anything on my end.

I haven't used Fedex, but some recent posts here suggest that they changed the way they do things in the last couple of weeks. You might check with them.

Fedex has made changes, the way the old zencart contribution looks for the information returned by fedex no longer works.... a new version of fedex mod needs to be created. I was able to get my meter rolled back to the way it was but this is just a temp fix... come march if no new add on script is made we will have to move to UPS..
