Default My GoDaddy website keeps going down

When working on any page on my website the page will lock up and go to a white page that says internet explore cannot open page. Than I have to wait several minutes before I can even log back into it again.
I will add a item to the product page get all the way to the bottom click on update and it freezes. Can this be fixed.

Well, if your User Name on these forums (laboutiquedelingerie), plus dot com, is your website address then the answer is really quite simple - nothing to do with Zen Cart, but all to do with being hosted with GoDaddy.

I have called GoDaddy and they say it is zen cart as they have nothing to do with the website timing up or locking up? Some days it has no problems but the last 3 days it is none stop locking up.

Does anyone else have this problem.

Yes: Most GoDaddy storeowners do. As soon as they switch to a more conventional and reliable hosting company all those performance problems disappear as if by magic.

while it does sound most likely a Godaddy issue (there is a reason they are really cheap), are there any debug files being generated in the /cache folder

I used to have my zen cart on godaddy, my site would have constant issues ie; no database connection, extremely slow page loads, "contact us" email would take two to three hours to reach the in box. I would call them and it was never an issue on their end, but it always went away with no work on my end.

I have heard that they are ok for static sites, but sites that require a database is another story. I still have one site hosted with them and it took 1 hour to ftp 8mb to my site.

There are much better options out there.

My belief is that if you are doing eCommerce, then you owe it to your customers (existing and prospective) to offer your site with the best assurance of security, reliability, performance and trust.

This ALL starts with proper hosting, and your BEST course of action is to partner with a hosting company that understands eCommerce, and knows how to configure their systems to accommodate eCommerce platforms (such as Zencart).

Our little company has taken the decision to migrate ALL our client accounts to a UK-based host that specialises in eCommerce (and zencart), and it is proving to be a very good decision.

Performance is UP. (on many sites, page parse time has more than halved).
    Reliability is UP.
Support is EXCELLENT (because they know ZC better than we do, they know how to advise on its configurations).

Knowing that we have top-rate hosting partners frees us up to do what we need to do... go our there and find more business!

Honestly... don't fool about with "cheap" hosting. In reality is is hugely costly in the long run - and may even cost you your business!

Your problem is very likely GoDaddy. Naturally they'll deny it, but you'll immediately notice far better performance and support if you choose a more reliable hosting company. For recommendations see the recommended "Hosts" page ... link at the top of this page.
