Default Unwanted "code" showing on shopping cart pages - Advanced Shipper

    Hello,

Am using Zencart version 1.3.9h. mySQL version is 5.0.92-community.

http://www.piecemakers.com/shopping_cart_page.html shows one whole page of our "view shopping cart" page showing one item ordered. Everything you see in small print below the "Back to Shopping" button and above the "Estimate Shipping Costs" line appeared for the first time yesterday. We have no idea where it came from!! We had not even added any items to our product line between the time that everything was normal and then not normal.

First, I replaced the "includes" folder inside the shopping cart folder with a backed up version. Then, I tried restoring an SQL backup from April 21, 2011, but nothing changed.

I also get a random wholesale page if I log in before shopping but am still able to navigate and order. Have attempted to order on Safari (version 4.1.3) and Firefox (version 3.6.17) - on Macs - and Internet Explorer 8 - on a Windows XP PC - with the same results on all. If I order anything other than ribbon (which is what you see on the linked page) I only get about the first four lines of the small print.

When we go to the checkout page there is a long stretch of the floral background before the checkout window shows up because all the small print and code you see on the view shopping cart page is on the floral background - almost invisible.

Please help! The webmaster who set this up is not available for troubleshooting.

This is "art room" again. It looks like much of the information being displayed has to do with the Advanced Shipper Config under the Modules dropdown in admin.

"Method 1" in the advanced shipper config has to do with a flat $3.00 shipping rate for some items. Ribbon is one of those. I tested it by ordering other items listed under that flat rate method and they all get the same lengthy display of unwanted info on the " shopping cart contents" page. Items with a shipping weight only have the first line of the unwanted info displayed.

How can I stop the display of all the small print and code on the shopping cart contents and checkout pages?

It's difficult to tell from an image, because we can't see the generated code, but check to make sure that you haven't loaded the includes/modules/shipping/ level file into the includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/ level. Though that should generate a "Cannot redeclare class blah blah blah already declared at blah blah blah" error. Still worth checking though.

Thank you, Vger, for your answer. I checked and the advanced shipper folder is in the correct place. There is one file at the includes/languages/english/modules/ shipping/ level named advshipper.php, but I think it has always been there.

If you placed an order and then looked at the "view source" (or whatever your browser says) for that window, would you be able to see the code you need to see?

But what does it contain? Simple language entries or lots of php coding?

If you placed an order and then looked at the "view source"
If you want people on forums to help out by actually running test orders then the forum etiquete is to help them to do that by setting up a test account and posting the user name and password for that test account - rather than those trying to assist all having to go through the account set up process.

    Hello Vger,

My sincere apology for breaching the forum etiquette - I appreciate the correction.

I looked at the advshipper.php and believe it is just simple language, after comparing it with the advshipper.php in includes/modules/shipping.

I set up an identity to use for placing a test order on our site - http://www.piecemakers.com/products.html. The email address to enter is [email protected] and the password is thisisatest If you want to make a test order, order silk ribbon and you will see the whole string of text and code.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Well,if I go to the site, put a Ribbon item in the cart and then Login I go to a page which says:
    wholesale_retail
This is another page that is linked to the Chapter 10 via the Chapter number used and is sorted based on the TOC Order.

There is not a link to this page via the Header, Footer nor the Sidebox.

This page is only seen if the "main" link is selected and then it will show in the TOC listing.

This is a handy way to have numerous links that are related but only show one main link to get to them all.
If I then click on the Checkout link in the header I go to a page where the header does not begin until more than halfway down the page - and this code is the reason:
    <html dir="ltr" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en"><head>

    </pre>
This appears BEFORE your header content. So the code for Advanced Shipper has obviously been inserted in the wrong place. Please note - I don't see this code on the page itself, only in the "Generated Source" underlying the page.

If I select Check/Money Order as the payment method and go to Stage 3 of Checkout the new page appears as normal. I can then complete the order.

So the problem is limited to Shipping and specifically to the Advanced Shipping module you installed.

The "wholesale" page that you quoted is the same one I referred to in my first post. If I clicked on "shopping cart" when on that page it took me to the shopping cart contents (with all the extra code).

When you say that the advanced shipping module is installed in the wrong place - do you know what file I should look in (or replace from a backup) to correct the problem? We never had this happen until three days ago and the advanced shipper module was installed in 2009, I believe, and our Zencart version upgraded in October of 2010. Please understand you are dealing with a total novice here.

My co-worker and I are now having to troubleshoot an application about which we thought we were going to be able to remain blissfully ignorant, so we are grateful for the time you have given.
