Default completely confused on attribute pricing.....

Ok, I've read through the tutorials, I've read through the old
2004 thread on adding prices based on attributes, and every time
I think I understand it, I read the next post, and I get even more
    confused than I was before.....

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a set of photographs in a category called Point Lobos Set 1.
Each photo will have four size options:
    1) 18x12 inches will cost $a
    2) 24x16 inches will cost $b
    3) 30x20 inches will cost $c
    4) 36x24 inches will cost $d

where a, b, c, and d are their individual prices in US $.

Based on what I'm reading, having set products are priced by
attributes, if I then set Include in Base Price, and enter each
    price as +a. +b, +c, and +d, respectively, I will either
get (for base price == $0.00):

    A) 18x12 is $a, 24x16 is $b, etc., OR
    B) 18x12 is $a, 24x16 is $(a+b), etc. OR
    C) something completely different.

Which of these is correct? OR, should I just either leave
a blank instead of a '+' to set each price individually?

    Thanks,

In the product setup screen do not enter a price and select priced by attributes

Create a option name say "Format"
Create 4 option values for "Format"
    18x12 inches
    24x16 inches
    30x20 inches
    36x24 inches

Go to the attribute controller and select the product Point Lobos

Add each of the four option names and in each enter the price and next to that there is a box with "+" - - remove it
As you have no base price do not concern yourself about that
Check that it displays as you wish

It did. Except it only added it to one product. More reading
to do now to get that worked out so I don't have to enter it
    one by one.....

Well you only can add to one at a time - - the one you aelect

Now if it is to be the same you can copy to another product OR copy to a complete category if you have your categories arranged this way

I must have done something wrong, then, because every time
I went to add to a new product, it cleared all of the information
about the prices (it kept the option values, i.e., the available
photo poster sizes, but not the attributes). And when I tried
what APPEARED to be the box to copy to all products,
I got an error---I seem to recall that it said something about
not finding any data in the product I'd already set up, or
something like that. Anyways, I did them all by hand.

Next time, though, I'll be asking for a pointer to the right
tutorial with pictures and everything, if one like that exists.
If not, I'll ask for the closest thing to that. :-)

Now I just have to get set up to send customers to PayPal
web payments standard so they can pay with their credit or
debit cards (without my having to pay a fee, as with Pro).
But that will have to wait until tomorrow. The migraines
are threatening again...which means it's time to stop for the
    night.

    Thanks,

No don't go to a new product

Load the product you did add them to in the attribute controller
    and select copy
