Default installing a backup into a new location

hello, after hours of searching for corrupted files and findfing many, but still having problems with the 'cleaned' version- i have decided to install an older backup version into a new folder with security fixes in place.

the thing that i noticed is that the older version has the db_server_usename, hempster_zc_1 and the newer db version says DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'hempster_zc2'

my question is how many db's will i have to rename so that they are all correct? or is there a way to do a fresh install of 1.3.9a and upload/copy the old products/categories?

please keep in mind i am a noob who has been slowly learning about all this, so the more simple it is the better.

Zen Cart only stores the database name in 2 places: /admin/includes/configure.php and /includes/configure.php

Probably not. Most phpMyAdmin installations don't let you actually rename the database itself.

I have a full backup of a site built on a template on version 1.3.9c
The site was fully functional when the backup was made.
I would like to install this on a different location, under a different domain name.

Would you please point me some place where there is a very detailed set of Instructions that I can follow?

I assume I will have to install the new domain name in a million places, etc.

Do I have to install the latest ZenCart version from Fantastico, from the cpanel or that is not necessary?

    Thanks,

I actually located this set of instructions but there is no mentioning of domain name issues:

It's not mentioned because it's largely irrelevant.
The only place in Zen Cart where your domain name is mentioned is in the HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER settings in your configure.php files.
And, if you run zc_install to do a manual installation FROM THE DOMAIN URL you want to install it for, that information will be set into the configure.php files automatically.
