I offer a free sample with purchase, one sample per order. Is there a way to make one specific category so the customer can only pick one of the items in that category to add to their cart?

I have the category currently set up with a Product Qty Maximum of 1 and free shipping. Customers are currently able to add one of EACH sample I offer. I would like to stop this from happening.

There's nothing like this built in to Zen Cart.

However, if your have programming skills, you could construct an "extra cart action" that automatically removes any product from the specified category from the cart, if a different one is put in.

There's an example of using extra cart actions in the wiki.

I have very little programming skills. Is there a way I could add a blurb to the order confirmation email stating that "only one free sample with be shipped with purchase if more than one is picked"? This is stated in many places on the website but I need something in the order confirmation email. I have FEC installed.
