For want of a better way of describing it...

I have 20 jackets in stock.
I have 50 red belts in stock
I have 50 green belts in stock.
Belts can not be bought seperately.
Jackets are supplied with a free belt.
The customer can choose a red or green belt.
Each jacket MUST have a belt.
The total belts order MUST equal the total jackets ordered.

How can I set this up - I haven't a clue -

Any one got any ideas - I would appreciate hearing them.

Attributes just do not add a cost and use either the radio button or a drop box

I should add the customer can order as many jackets as he likes - so long as there is stock ( dont worry about belts going out of stock - this isnt really jackets and belts - its just an easy analogy)

Thanks Kobra - I had read that and have used attributes - although with radio's not drop downs -
but I cant figure out how to allow to order - say
5 jackets, 3 red belts and 2 green belts

and not 5 jackets, 10 red and 10 green belts - too many belts
or 5 jackets and 2 red and 1 green - not enough belts

without requireing each jacket to be added indiividually

What about the following options:

1. Please Select
2. Jackets with Red belts
3. Jackets with Green belts
4. Equal mix of red & green belts

The Please select is default, display only.
The difficult part is to educate the customer that, when purchasing 15 mixed, they would order seven of item 4 and one of either 2 or 3.

Thanks 'dbltoe' - thats part wa ythere - but what if someone wants, say, 10 Jackets, 7 green belts, 3 red belts.

This is where I cant see how to do it without requireing them to add 2 products to the cart

then
3 Jackets option red

(actually they are seats on a train taking families to visit Santa. There are a fixed number of seats, 60 per carriage, everyone has a seat. I cant have 'Adult' tickets as one product and 'Child' tickets' as another product because I dont know what the mix will be and can't control the total seats sold - I wanted one product 'seats' with attribuutes 'Adult' and 'Child'. I also wanted the customer to buy 'seats' and then select how many adults and how many children. I could use a text box and simply ask - but this assumes they enter the correct number. It isnt a problem because of seat numbers, it is to ensure we have the correct mix of gifts - how many adult gifts required, and how many child gifts?)
