Can't find thread for adding multiple quantities of each attribute

Not long ago, I came across a thread here in the forum where someone was demonstrating the ability to add multiples of each attribute of a product.
On the same page, a customer was able to add quantities to boxes next to each value name allowing the customer to add (for example) 10 small, 24 medium, 2 Large, 4 XL, and 2 XXL of a single item without having to add them separately.
I thought that I had bookmarked the item, but I have checked every computer.
Not in emails that I send either.
Does anyone remember this post and perhaps have a link?

NOTE: This module will intersect attributes, unless you only use one attribute such as SIZE. But if you try to add a second option, such as COLOR, it will combine them. For example if t-shirt comes in different colors and sizes. You wouldn't have two separate areas where you can add one blue and one small. The attributes intersect, thus the 'grid'. You would enter a quantity for one blue & small shirt.

Not sure what products you are selling, but the setup would totally depend on the nature of your products.

If you have more than just size and you don't want them to intersect, then you might consider making separate products for each size & color, and showing those on your category page would allow customers to enter quantities for each and add to cart from category page.

I think I'm looking for something similar. Jackie, are you saying that setting up a separate product for each color would make the site easier for customers? I'm all for that.

What I have are pewter pieces where they could choose the crystal color. So only one attribute. I have the available stock showing for products that do not have attributes but of course that is only confusing for products that do since qty 1 doesn't tell you which color.

Any thoughts?

Using individual products instead of attributes may be easier to manage, especially if you use Easy Populate. However, if you make individual products you'll have separate descriptions, prices, etc. So if you plan to have the same info for all colors it can get redundant...

I think both options are fairly easy for the customers to use. Both options have their pros/cons - it all depends on your preference. Why not try Attribute Grid on a test shop, and set up another category with separate products. Test it and see which option you like best!
