Drill down search on drop down form

Hi
Just a generic question as I dont have a zen site yet.
Is it possible to search the catalogue with 3 dropdowns say first searching for Printer makes, second searching model and third searching colour and then displaying contents of database items for sale?

I need the three dropdown form to be fully customisable. Is there a widget out there or code available.

zen cart is open source and very flexible, so you can change the code to meet your needs. It will depend on your experience with PHP, or to get a developer who can build it for you.

There are lots of Advanced Search modules available. They might not do exactly what you want right out of the box, but they would be a good start.

This mod provides three drop-down select boxes which are used to select
products from subcat01 - subcat02 - subcat03 such as Make-Model-Year.

So the second and third drop-down are populated dynamically (using jquery)
as a result of the choice made in the previous box.

This doesn't look like the simple effect I need.

I need a good old fashioned drop down box to stay selected when chosen and a second appears underneath with the sub cats of those above and then another appears with sub cats of those above , ad inf, ad inf, ad inf...

Cmon all you super coders , it must be possible for Zen Cart!?
