Missing Image question

Site is running ZC 1.3.8a on a Linux server.

I have several product that do not have images. In the Admin,
I have set the Product Image - No image Status to 1 and the
specified No Image Picture is present in the images directory.
However, that image does not appear when viewing the product.
Instead, I get an ALT text that is essentially the product description.
What might I be doing wrong?

I think the problem may be a misunderstanding on my part.
I now believe that the variable PRODUCTS_IMAGE_NO_IMAGE
only gets set if the variable v_products_image was left blank.
My problem is that we have defined an image name but that
image was not uploaded to the server. Hence I get the ALT
output which is the product description.

I was hoping that if the designated file was not found then the
defined missing image would be displayed. MY BAD !

I figured out a way to get the defined missing image picture
to display when an image is defined but not present on the
server. Required a modification to the file
includes/functions/html_output.php

I will submit the changed file as a mod for ZC 1.3.8a users.

OY!!! Please do not do that no one should be continuing to use v1.3.8 - it has severe security problems that can be addressed by upgrading.

OOPS! I had already submitted the mod before receiving your
request to not submit. Hopefully my submission will be ignored,
especially since I just discovered an undesirable result of the
mod.
