Rate based on total, Help!

At the moment I only ahve 1 flat rate for each zone. I wish to set 2-3 different shipping rates for the 1 zone based the final purchased total. For example:
1, $30 for up to $300,
2, $60 for up to $600
3, $80 for more $1200

Not sure how this can be done.

Look at table rate shipping by order total amount.

Look in:

Modules|Shipping|Table Rate

I think you meant that you want these shipping rates:
up to 300: $30
301 to 600: $60
601 and above: $80

If so, then you need to type this into the "shipping rate" text box:
300:30,600:60,99999:80

And you need to set the "table method" to "price".
