Customers can't log in

Fresh install/godaddy.com(I know they suck, now)
Added Mostly Grey Template

I can get a new account to log in but not a past account.
I keep getting a error that the user name and password to not match. I have emails from past customers saying that they have requested a new password and the new one does not work.
I have tried the FAQ suggestions and nothing is working.
I have been searching for hours and cannot resolve this issue.
Please help!!!!

I suppose you used their installer also???

Try a manual install

If I did a manual install, can I install it over what I have now so I do not lose what took me forever to get done, lol.
I was hoping it was a php issue, I was trying to find the templates that make sure everything is pointing to where it should, what I found it was but there seems to be a difference from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9 so some of the user issues that I found did not apply.
