Sidebox Links Not Working

I have been looking for 2 days for the answer to my problem and d*&n there's a lot of threads and I cannot find a similar situation.

I have two subcategories that when I go into those pages the links in the sideboxes quit working and the link on the pages for "Red Wines" is not working.

I think the problem is that the two categories are linked and I cannot figure out how to remove the link.

If I'm right some direction would be appreciated.

If I'm wrong then I need more help than I think.

you wouldn't happen to be using firefox would you?

you have a box with an absolute position, and im pretty sure its appearing over the navigation (ie the box is covering the links and a certain area and its this that could be covering the links you are having trouble with)

below is the box, have you added this code at some point

I am using Firefox and no I have not added any code. I followed the same procedure for all categories. The two categories in question "Grand Cru" and "Grand Cru International" I may have changed the name of existing categories to get these two.

I will try and create two brand new categories, copy all sub categories and products to the new categories and see if that fixes it. I will also try using IE, Chrome and Opera and see if I get the same results.

Figured it out. There were some extra "Returns" in the Category Description. I removed those and the links are all working fine.

just to add, all the links were working fine for me in the first place but only in Internet Explorer, the reason i asked about Firefox was, that in firefox the links where covered with a box overlaying the menu items you had described, however in Explorer the overlaying box wasnt an issue for some reason, anyway glad you have it sorted

Hi, can somebdy let me knwo how to fix the right column/box width and/or move the column/box to left? Is it locked because the tech that installed the ZC for me prepared a custom template? Please help

You can change sidebox widths in Configuration > Layout Settings > Column Right width - Global and Column Right Boxes width.
You can move them all to the left column by setting Column Right/Left status - Global, and enabling the sideboxes for where you want them in Tools > Layout Boxes Controller.


By the way, your site seems to load extremely slowly given its minimal content.

Thanks for your tip, this worked, but can u tell me why the sideboxes are coming in different widths in product listing page, ZC home page, shopping cart page, n with each product on the shopping cart it varies,

PS: Yes, I noticed this problem with godaddy hosting, wil have to talk to them, do u think somthing related to many websites hosted on one IP / server?

Search the forum for Godaddy to learn about their many shortcomings for e-commerce hosting.

The shoppingcart box content is pushing out the width of that box, and the rest of the column follows. I don't see a good reason why the content width would not be wrapping to fit in the defined box width... more research needed.
