Questions about Easy Populate v1.2.5.4

So I downloaded the Easy Populate, and I am trying to install it to the website, and I have gotten up to this step

5) Go to Admin -> Tools -> Easy Populate.

Did I mess up one of the instructions before it?

Only I can't find it, it isn't in the zen cart admin area, not in the cpanel area. I am about ready to hit my head against the wall, any help would be appreciated.

You obviously did not load the files into the correct folders.

Your ADMIN folder has probably been re-named... So you must also re-name the "admin" folder in the Easy Populate download. The folder names must match each other.

In your FTP program you will have two "panes". One shows your LOCAL machine, the other pane shows your remote server.

Before you "send" the files from your local machine to the server, the directory level showing in the local pane must be the same level showing in your remote server.

So... in your local pane (where the EP module sits), you will see two folders:

admin
temp
(and a few files)

In your remote machine (server) you need to navigate to the same level - ie: where you see your own admin folder. (There is unlikely to be a folder called "temp" on a fresh install of zencart.)

But your server admin folder is now likely to have a different name (no longer "admin"). Let's assume it's called "zc_admin".

You need to re-name the Easy Polulate "admin" folder to "zc_admin" so that its name matches that on the server.

Then, to FTP the module, simply highlight the two folders for EP on your local machine, and send them to the server. You will not overwrite any files. All that will happen is that the CONTENTS of the EP admin folder will be ported to the server admin folder. The entire "temp" folder will be ported (because there is no "temp" folder currently on the server.

(For Easy Populate there is NO NEED to FTP upload the loose files under the "admin" and "temp" folders. Just send "admin" and "temp" - where "admin" has been re-named to your server "admin" folder name).

If you do this, then the EP module will show up under your TOOLS menu. There will be an instruction to "install" it - so just click the "install" link... and away you go.

The above principle is applicable to all module uploads... You must have the same folder names (if they exist) on BOTH the local and remote machines, and you must be at the same directory LEVEL on both machines. Bear in mind that some modules may over-write existing files, so it is essential that you follow the readme instructions, and that you BACK UP files (on the server) that are overwritten as a result of a module upload.

I wish I had the same luck. I have two admin files....admin and zc_admin....I tried both and still I don't see the easy populate files under "tools" or "configuration". When using FTP, I would have expected to just see my same admin file after the transfer...but I just see a second admin file under the main admin tree....what am I doing wrong?

me too , Ive tried every way possible. Does it matter if I am using a different template, I have sophy blue?

I explain the problem... and the solution in post #2 above. Can you not follow what I am saying?
