Add a "How did you hear about us?" field?

I must be missing something, but I did not find anything that refers to adding a form field during account creation. I would like to add a simple:

"How did you hear about us?" field in the account creation area.

Anyone know of a solution?

do you want as option tab or text field?

The problem with these is if the customer has to write something out its just hassle and slows down the account creation process, and if its a drop down, I know (as I do) I just select anything on the list so the data you are collecting from this can be meaningless.

Thank all of you. I do think the drop down field attached to orders only is the better way to go because you can track (unlike one of my other websites that has a text field and it goes nowhere).

Although I won't be installing this add on for this website I may use it in the future for other websites. I am glad to see someone wrote this.
