shipping problems

I have setup the store latest version of zen used my problem is i have added around 300 items with prices in their catagorys etc etc but when it comes to shipping im stuffed.I wantr to ship to Australia only and have free post over $100 ...Whatever process i follow i cannot get any amount of postage to show up and ive ben over and over the FAQ is it something easy or am i or have i stufffed things up.

all products are fine i have no tax as its included in the price for Australia please some one help me get on with the store..

The shipping modules are not necessarily tied in with specific product data, other than those shipping systems that require WEIGHT and/or PRICE as part of their calculation functions.

If WEIGHT is a factor, your products must have a WEIGHT value entered against them.

You choose an appropriate shipping module only AFTER you have established HOW you will ship, and what it will COST to ship a consignment.

You say that you want to offer free shipping for orders over a certain value... but what will the rates be BEFORE that value is reached.

And how will your shipper calculate the rates?

Ask your shipper for a RATE CARD, to see what parameters they use to deliver stuff,

Generally, shipping is calculated on the basis of WEIGHT (or volumetric weight) and DISTANCE.

Once you know these variables, and the prices that are applied, you can go about setting up your shipping.

thanks for a quick reply we offer flat rate of $6.50 and free over $100 purchased so $6.50 post until the $100 is reached

When you know what RATES your shipper applies, and HOW these are calculated, come back to the forum with that info, and someone will point you to the appropriate module.

In your store ADMIN console, go to:

LOCATIONS TAXES >>> ZONES DEFINITIONS

Click INSERT

Next screen...

ZONE NAME: Australia
DESCRIPTION: Australia Shipping

Click INSERT

(Screen will refresh)

Click on DETAILS

(screen will refresh)

Click on INSERT

From 1st dropdown, select AUSTRALIA.

Leave 2nd dropdown as "All Zones"

Click INSERT.

NOW YOU HAVE AUSTRALIA SET UP AS A ZONE WITH A ZONE DEFINITION.


Now... GO TO

MODULES >>> SHIPPING

There is an option called FLAT RATE.

It may need INSTALLING... Click INSTALL button

Select TRUE - you want it to be enabled

Enter your shipping VALUE

Ignore Tax Base

Shipping Zone Dropdown - select AUSTRALIA

Sort Order : Any value greater than 1, but do not DUPLICATE with any existing module sort orders.

Click UPDATE.

THATS YOUR SHIPPING MODULE SET UP

Now... Go to

MODULES >>> ORDER TOTAL

Click on ot_shipping

Click EDIT

Enable - TRUE

Allow Free Shipping - TRUE

Free shipping for orders over - <ENTER YOUR VALUE THRESHOLD>

Provide Free Shipping for - NATIONAL

Click UPDATE

... DONE

TEST in live shop...

If this is the ONLY shipping mod you require, make sure all the others are either REMOVED, or set to FALSE.

You may want to retain STORE PICKUP, so enable it and give it a SORT ORDER greater than 0 .
