Setting Up Free Download Files

Need help figuring this out. I am using v1.3.9.h and trying to set up free unlimited document downloads. I want to be able to include multiple downloads under one listing. In addition, I wish from customers to avoid the checkout process if they are only requesting the download. Here is currently what I have set up:

Category->Templates
Document - General->Template
Available

Option Name->Templates
Checkbox
Option Values->Standard Set Up
->Non-Standard Set Up

Added Attributes for Standard and Non-Standard
Attribute Flags:
Display Purposes only: NO
Attribute is Free ....: Yes
Default Attribute to...:No
Apply Discounts...:Yes
Include in Base Price...Yes
Attribute Required...:No

Downloadable products name: Each file name is listed under the correct product and a green dot is visible next to the file listing indicating the file is available.

Expiry:0
Maximum download count:0

The item appears in the store along with the checkboxes. You can check the boxes but nothing happens. There is nothing listed to download it. I have turned the quantity and add to cart feature off for this category. Even when I turn on the add to cart feature it displays sold out. Ideally, I would like to avoid the add a cart and have customers instanting download the template.

What am I missing?

Set the quantity to 10 so that:

1 it is not sold out

2 does not trigger the low quantity email

There is no where to change the quantity. When I look under the Catalog/Product it only lists:

Document Status->Available
Date Available-> empty
And the other basic document info. There is no quantity box.

Sounds like you made that Product with the Product Type Document General ...

Change that to either Document Product ... if it needs to be a different Product Type than the Product General ... or change it to Product General ...

Thanks, the solves part of my problem. Can I make it download the templates without going though the hassle of having my customers go through the checkout process?

The templates are free and I would like for them to be able to instantly download them right from the item area.
