Login generates 404 page error for https URL

Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me with a login issue and page not found problem.
This is a new zen install. During setup I selected "Login for Price" since this is a wholesale/dealer purchasing website we do not want it open to the public. (I will use "mydomain.net" as my base URL for these questions)
a) I've entered the products and done the configuration and when I click on the "Login for Price" link the URL switches to https (https://www.mydomain.net/catalog/ind...ain_page=login) which then creates a 404 page error "The requested URL /catalog/index.php was not found on this server."
If I change the URL to "http" not "https" the login page shows correctly.
b) Also, once at the login page if I try to set up an account, on submit it goes to (https://www.mydomain.net/catalog/ind...create_account) but gives the same 404 page error.
Any assistance is appreciated ... I've work with other carts that are older versions of OSC so the basic structure I understand. I'm just stumped on this issue.

Clearly your hosting account doesn't support SSL yet.
Or https://www.mydomain.net/ isn't actually a working SSL URL for your hosting account.

You'll need to work with your hosting company to fix that problem.

Thank you very much. I had a suspicion that might be it. Obviously my hosting company installed the SSL incorrectly.
