Default import 1.3.8 database into new install 1.3.9h

I have a new install of the lastest Zen Cart version 1.3.9h. The site is going to be reworked (redesigned with a new template).
Can I import my 1.3.8a database into it?

    Thanks.

    Yes. That's normal.

The installer contains the functionality needed to upgrade the database. Just follow the upgrade instructions.

    I am sorry,

Where can find the detail inform about on above case?

It is not from 1.3.8 upgrade to 1.3.9h.

It is first installed the 1.3.9h fresh then import the 1.3.8 database to the fresh 1.3.9h database, it look like will full over write the 1.3.9h database, right?

    Then how it can upgrade?

Since I am also planing this type of fresh install 1.3.9h then import my old 1.3.7 shop upgrade to 1.3.9h.. But no addition inform and how to. Plus the 1.3.7 have many module installed too.

What you're describing is absolutely normal. Most upgrades are done by installing the lastest version of the code and then overwriting the database with the older version, which can then by upgraded by the current versions installer (zc_install).

And I have yet to see an upgrade that didn't have mods from an older version, and I've done hundreds!

A full list of the steps may be found in this tutorial.
