Product pages

Hello.

I am brand new to Zen Cart. So far I love it. I have read the Zen Cart Manual along with the FAQ. I have also reviewed every menu item in the admin panel and there are a few seemingly basic things I am missing. If anyone can share their knowledge I would appreciate it.

1. On my product pages it says "0 Units in Stock". I have done everything possible to disable my units. While I do have an inventory, I never run out and I do not wish Zen Cart to manage this feature or show this information. How can I remove this from the product pages?

2. Also on the product pages it shows "Manufactured by: [name]". I also wish to remove this notice.

3. At the bottom of the product pages it shows "This product was added to our catalog on Sunday 07 August, 2011.". I wish to remove this notice as well.

For the above items I really thought I found the answer in Configuration and tried each of the various Listing items, but none worked.

4. I only am offering two products for sale presently. I would like that product to show up on the main page. I tried to show the category on the main page by following the simple instructions I located (https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=49) but that did not work. What could I be missing?

1-3: Admin->Catalog->Product Types->Product-General->Edit Layout ... turn off the things you don't want to show, by setting them to 0
