The issue "zen_draw_form in admin does not respect the setting of the $usessl parameter" which was reported here:

has not yet been addressed in 1.5.0 - wouldn't this be a good idea? Then we could do things like backup the database securely from admin.

Better yet, follow the instructions in the Implementation Guide for properly securing your admin by setting the HTTP_SERVER value to a working https URL, and the DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN accordingly if needed.
That way the entire admin runs under SSL..
