Default Javascript error in webscr.htm ?!

    Hi,

I am building my shop and carry out tons of testing on PPExpress thru the SANDBOX. Since ~24hours ago, I experienced that after clicked PPExpress checkout from my site, the login screen of PayPal pop up, however, after logged in with a testing user in PP Sandbox, the browser did not come out with the logged in user's address for confirmation. Instead, it come out a almost blank page with a "CANCEL" url....

I browsed into the webscr.htm, and found that the user's address information was returned and embedded in the webscr.htm. The problem seems to be there is a javascript error that stopping the browser from display out the correct content of the page.

It seems this only happening to a user with uni-code address, and only in SANDBOX about since 24hours ago.... As my site is targeted for Asian customer, so most of my customer will have an uni-code address, and this must be tested...

Production paypal and/or user with english address work fine.

Anyone got the same problem ?

Logged call to Paypal support but they seems not quite understand the problem, and where is the problem !!

    Rgds,

Since the webscr.htm page is on the PayPal server, you need to be talking to PayPal to fix the problem. It's got nothing to do with Zen Cart.

    Thx DR.

Though I am 99% sure it is their problem. But just want to confirm
if anyone here experience this problem ...

Actually, I am quite suprised that if this amendment was made by them intentionally, but they did not aware the problem. Think what could it be in a production paypal ?

Not only the merchant, but their commission dropped sharply for a few days, maybe.

That's why you should never rely on any testing in the PayPal sandbox. ALWAYS test your site using the Live system.

    Thanks Dr. again !

Perhaps it is a little bit out of topics...

I would always like to drill with the production PAYPAL. However, I learnt that frequently REFUND might lead to account lock/ban in PAYPAL. What's further worser is that they ban your site domain as well.

Any good hints on testing the complete flow with the production PAYPAL with least cost and avoid from ban ?

Those are questions you'll need to ask PayPal. Zen Cart has already done lots of testing and undergone formal certification with PayPal to ensure that the integration passes their requirements. Any extensive "drilling" of mass amounts of transactions you choose to do is unnecessary. A small number of test transactions on the live system should suffice if you're using the normal functionality of Zen Cart. If you're doing custom alterations to the checkout process, then it's up to you to work out your own sandbox or testing solution unique to your own custom development requirements. PayPal can help you work that out for your own purposes.
