Adding a Category to a Category with Products

Hi

I have a store running with some categories that already have products in them. I now want to tidy this up and add those products to categories within those categories. But I can't work out how I do it without deleting the products that are there, or moving them one-by-one to another category and back again?

Is this the only way?

So

Category1
----Product1
----Product2
----Product3
----Product4

To

Category1
----Category2
------Product1
------Product2
----Category3
------Product3
------Product4

(but many more products to deal with).

I have EasyPopulate Installed. Is there something I can do with this?

create the sub categories first and the go to product you would like to move and use the move button on right hand

You can create the new subcategories anywhere, perhaps as top categories on the same level as your Category 1, move the products from Category 1 to the various new categories, then when done move all the new categories to under Category 1 to become subcats. You pretty much need to move the products individually or in small groups one time anyway.
